Whether you’re in the market for a new car for work or you need something reliable for your growing family, you probably already know that finding the right car can be a long and challenging process. But it doesn’t have to be! Read on to find out how to buy the right car for your family.
Tips for Buying the Right Car
Do Your Research
First things first: do your research. I can’t stress this enough! You must know the facts about the make, model and price of your car. I recommend you start with Cars.com to help you learn about your potential purchase. Not only does Cars.com include a lot of information about a wide variety of cars, it also has a Videos & Reviews feature with honest information about the things that aren’t so great about a particular car.
And if you have a family, one feature that you’ll really want to check out is Cars.com’s Car Seat Check Honor Roll which is updated yearly and recognizes the cars that have ample room for at least two car seats and have Latch anchors that make car seat installation easier. Check out How Cars.com Conducts Car Seat Checks to see how thorough they are in the process.
Don’t just stick with one dealer – shop around to get the best prices! Competition is the name of the game, right? Yes, dealers can stock huge selections at different prices, but it doesn’t mean that those prices are competitive. Be sure to visit multiple dealers and research similar cars you’re interested in to determine a baseline price for your car.
If you’re buying a used vehicle (a solid option for families on a budget), you’ll definitely want to look at multiple dealers and consider the number of miles as well as the wear and tear on the cars you’re looking at.
Take Your Time
Be sure to take your time and find the car that is right for you and your family. Do your research, shop around, and don’t give in to sneaky car salesman tactics! Rushing your purchase may cause you to overpay and leave the lot with something that’s less than ideal for your family. To help you stay strong and find the right car for you, ask a friend or family member to accompany you to the dealership to make sure you don’t get talked into buying a car you don’t really want.
Purchasing a car for your family doesn’t have to be a big deal. The more you know about the process, the better off you will be! Cars.com has been around since 1998 and will help you with the car buying process. Doing your research, shopping around, and taking your time will help you find just the right car for your family.
Easy and Delicious Freezer Burritos
If you are looking for a quick and easy recipe, try these Delicious Freezer Burritos. Like most moms, I am very busy and it is hard to make a nice meal every single night. Several times a month I decide to make food ahead of time and put it in the freezer for a quick and easy meal. That way on those busy dance nights we don’t always feel like we have to eat out. This not only saves us time, but money as well. Plus, I like to eat these for lunch instead of sandwiches all the time!
In our home, anything that is evenly slightly Mexican gets us all on board! I swear we could live off of beans, tortillas and cheese! This recipe contains very few ingredients and it is super quick to whip up a batch to freeze or eat right away.
The best part about this recipe is that you can do several things to make it your own. I use original Rotel Tomatoes, but if you want a little more kick you could go with the Hot Rotel. If you like onions or peppers, you could add some when you brown your hamburger.
Delicious Freezer Burritos
- Package of Knorr Mexican Rice - prepared
- 16 oz. can of refried beans (I use fat-free, but whatever kind you prefer)
- 10 oz. can of Rotel tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 lb. hamburger browned and drained
- 1 package of taco bell original seasoning
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 12 soft tortilla shells
- After browning hamburger, add package of taco bell seasoning using the directions on the package. Add refried beans and rotel to the hamburger mixture.
- I always stir it around and get it nice and hot.
- Once it is hot, take a tortilla shell and add as much rice as you want and top it with the hamburger mixture.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Continue filling burritos until your run out of filling.
- Fold and serve immediately or let cool and prepare to place in the freezer.
Now, to freeze these burritos let them cool and then tightly wrap them in aluminum foil. I like to put mine in gallon size freezer bags and I always write the date I made them. To warm them, place them on a microwave safe plate and cover with a paper towel. I usually heat them for 2-3 minutes until they are cooked through.
Add some tortilla chips and guacamole and you have a pretty tasty meal! When you serve the burritos, they go so nicely with some sour cream, any kind of nacho cheese sauce or some picante sauce on top! You can also add lettuce or tomato add to the delicious burritos.
Now you can just sit back and enjoy your Easy and Delicious Freezer Burritos. No need to worry about having to rush home to slave over the stove to make supper!
